Jagannath Temple & Narendra Pokhari (Narendra Tank), Puri

Chandan Jatra is the longest festivals associated with Lord Jagannath, celebrated in Puri with rituals, processions, and water-based ceremonies- the Jatra goes on for 21 days – 42 days outside the temple, when representative of Lord Jagannath , Shri Madan Mohan along with Bhudebi and Sridebi and their friends are taken out in ceremonial palanquins with procession to Narendra Pokhari(Pond). The festival involves the ceremonial boating of deities in decorated boats, accompanied by music and traditional performances, offering a unique visual spectacle.

Ratha Jatra in Puri is one of the most iconic and grand religious festivals in India, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, along with Lord Balabhadra and Debi Subhadra. The festival transcends regional and international boundaries, apart from many states in India, Ratha Jatra is celebrated in more than 50 countries worldwide. The deities are taken out in a procession called ‘Pahandi’ from the Shree Mandir and seated in massive chariots and pulled by devotees along the Grand Road to the Gundicha Temple. Drawing millions of pilgrims from across the world, the festival is a powerful expression of devotion, inclusivity, and spiritual fervour.
